Tyre Balancing
What is tyre balancing?
Wheel balancing is a technique used to ensure that the weight is distributed equally around the wheel and that the tyre rotates evenly. Tyre balancing is done to make sure that your vehicle is safe and roadworthy. If your tyres are not correctly balanced, you may feel vibrations when driving and your tyres, suspension and steering components may be worn prematurely.
How secure is the admin area?
We add small balancing weights to the rim of the wheel to counterweight any inconsistencies. If an imbalance is identified, wheel weights are added to even out the distribution of weight.
Wheel Tracking
What is wheel tracking?
Wheel tracking, or wheel alignment, is a service to ensure your vehicle’s wheels are set to the correct position according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Wheels can easily become misaligned when driving due to potholes, speed bumps and more. Unfortunately, this can lead to uneven tyre wear, the car pulling to the left or right, and uneven braking.
How is wheel tracking done?
Using specialist alignment equipment, we will check the direction and angle of your vehicle’s wheels. If they are misaligned, we will adjust the tie rods and control arms to correct them.
Turn-On Rims
What are turn-on rims?
A turn-on rim is a process used to demount and refit a tyre after being turned around. This means that the inner and outer lanes of the tread are swapped over. This is done for several reasons including rectifying scuffing, balancing irregular, sloped or shoulder wear and troubleshooting minor damage. This process works to prolong the life of your tyres.
How are turn-on rims fitted?
Our mechanics will check your vehicle for signs of unbalanced and irregular wear and scuffing, before advising on where a turn-on rim is required.
